Garland County Tax Collector: Property Search & Pay Tax

Garland County, Arkansas ยท Tax, parcel and public-record action guide

Find the Right Property Record and Pay the Correct Tax

Search a Garland County tax balance, print a statement or receipt, check assessed-value records, find office hours, or resolve personal-property, trash-block and delinquent-tax problems without opening the wrong Hot Spring County portal.

This guide explains which official system handles each task. Enter payment information only on a county-linked Garland County or Arkansas.gov service.

Garland County is not Hot Spring County. This page is for Garland County in Hot Springs/Hot Springs National Park, with the Collector at 200 Woodbine. Hot Spring County is a separate county headquartered in Malvern with a different tax portal.

How to search and pay Garland County property taxes online

Open the Garland County-linked tax searchConfirm that the page identifies Garland County. Do not use a search result labeled Hot Spring County or Malvern.
Use the strongest identifier availableStart with the parcel number from the tax statement. Otherwise search by taxpayer name, business name or property address.
Check every account tied to the taxpayerReview personal property and real estate together because personal-property taxes must be paid before or at the same time as real-estate taxes.
Check the tax year and payment statusConfirm the current year, any prior balance, amount already paid, remaining balance and whether the record is current or delinquent.
Look for a county trash problemA delinquent solid-waste account can block the property-tax payment, and an account with a Solid Waste block cannot be paid by credit card.
Review the provider fee and availabilityElectronic-payment fees are charged by the service provider, not retained by Garland County. The Arkansas.gov portal can also be temporarily unavailable, so do not wait until deadline night.
Save proof and confirm postingKeep the confirmation, tax year, parcel, amount and bank/card record. The county says a received online card payment reflects on the tax account immediately.
Temporary portal outage: CountyPay may display an unavailable message during maintenance or tax-roll transitions. Retry later or use the county inquiry site and call the Collector instead of switching to an unrelated county portal.

Annual calendar

Garland County tax dates, partial payments and late charges

January 1-May 31 โ€” assess personal propertyVehicles, boats, trailers, business assets and other taxable personal property must be assessed through the Assessor.
March 1 โ€” current taxes become dueCurrent personal-property and real-estate taxes enter the payment window.
By July 1 โ€” statements mailedContact the Collector if the statement does not arrive, but do not treat a missing statement as proof that nothing is due.
October 15 โ€” normal payment deadlinePayment must be received or properly postmarked. The FAQ says a weekend October 15 moves to the next business day.
After the deadline: The Collector page says a 10% penalty, daily interest and advertising fee are added. Because the official page does not publish one universal daily-interest amount for every account, request the current payoff instead of using an estimated calculator.
Partial payments

Any amount may be paid on current taxes before the deadline. Partial payments are not accepted once the account is delinquent.

Payment order

Personal-property taxes must be paid before or at the same time as real-estate taxes. Search both account types before paying only the real-estate parcel.

Optional charge on the statement: The county FAQ says the $10 Animal Care and Shelter tax is voluntary. If you do not want to pay it, review the statement and payment screen instead of assuming every line is mandatory.
Statements, receipts and address

Print a tax statement or receipt and fix delivery problems

Statement did not arrive
  1. Search the official tax site by parcel, name or address.
  2. Contact the Collector after July 1.
  3. Confirm the mailing address with the Collector.
  4. Also update the Assessorโ€™s record.
  5. Pay by the deadline even if the paper statement is missing.
Receipt or payment proof
  1. Print an online receipt from Garland Tax Search.
  2. Keep the online confirmation and bank/card record.
  3. For mailed payment, include a self-addressed stamped envelope when a returned receipt is needed.
  4. Compare the receipt with the intended parcel and tax year.
Two-office address rule: Garland County says an address change must be made with both the Tax Collector at 501-622-3710 and the Assessor at 501-622-3730. Updating only one office can leave another record incorrect.
Escrow and mortgage companies: The county says mortgage companies or escrow holders have 60 days from receipt of tax bills to pay without penalty. Homeowners should still verify the county account instead of assuming the lender paid.

Garland County also offers eBilling sign-up through its Tax Collector Form Center for taxpayers who prefer electronic statements.

Payment-block troubleshooting

Why a county trash bill can stop property-tax payment

Garland County cites County Ordinance O-01-14 and says county solid-waste bills must be current before property taxes can be accepted. A Solid Waste block also prevents credit-card payment.

Check tax and trash togetherUse Garland Tax Search to identify whether the property has a county trash balance or block.
Contact Environmental ServicesCall 501-622-3658 when the block, occupancy, landlord responsibility or trash-account status is unclear.
Resolve the delinquent trash accountAsk for the current amount and accepted guaranteed-funds rule when the trash account is delinquent.
Confirm the block is clearedDo not assume payment of the trash bill instantly unlocks the property-tax account. Recheck or call before the October deadline.
Do not wait until October 15. A declined property-tax card payment may be an account block rather than a card problem, and resolving it can require another county department.
Vehicles and individual personal property

Assess personal property before vehicle-tag problems start

Garland County personal property includes vehicles, motorcycles, boats, trailers, campers, ATVs, jet skis, farm equipment, livestock and other taxable tangible property that is not part of real estate.

First assessment in Garland CountyThe county FAQ says the first personal-property assessment must be completed in person.
Later annual assessmentsAfter the first assessment, taxpayers may assess online, by phone at 501-622-3730 or in person.
Property located in another countyPersonal property is assessed where it resides, not automatically where the owner works or receives mail.
Vehicle-tag problemFirst confirm that the property was assessed for the correct year, then confirm that the Collector shows the billed tax paid.

Business personal-property rendition: what the form requires

The 2026 Garland County commercial rendition form must be signed and returned to the Assessor postmarked by May 31 to avoid a 10% assessment penalty.

Filing is not payment. Submitting the rendition establishes or updates the assessment. The Collector handles payment after the tax is billed.
Homestead and exemptions

Homestead credit, assessed-value freeze and disabled-veteran exemption

Official amount conflict: Garland Countyโ€™s current Amendment 79 FAQ says the principal-residence credit may be up to $600, while the older Tax Statements page still says $350. Use the current 2026 application and confirm the applied amount with the Assessor.
Homestead credit

It is not automatic. Apply for the principal residence through the Assessor. Once qualified, the county FAQ says annual reapplication is not required while eligibility remains unchanged.

Over-65 or disabled freeze

The freeze applies to taxable assessed value on the principal residence. It does not stop school-district millage changes or tax from new construction.

Disabled-veteran exemption

A veteran or qualifying surviving spouse with 100% service-connected, total and permanent disability may qualify. The county says a summary-of-benefits letter must be provided yearly by October 15.

Assessment limitations: The county FAQ explains that assessed value is generally 20% of value, with Amendment 79 limits that may restrict increases to 5% for a principal residence, 10% for other property or no increase for a qualifying over-65/disabled principal residence. New construction, newly discovered property, change in use or substantial improvement can be treated differently.
Time-sensitive 2026 alert

Real-estate value change and Board of Equalization help

2026 appointment deadline: The Assessorโ€™s current alert says the Board of Equalization is in session August 1 through September 30, 2026, and appointments must be made on or before August 17, 2026 by calling the County Clerk at 501-622-3610. Verify this dated notice immediately because it will expire.
Read the back of the value-change noticeThe county says owners receive a notice when real-estate value increases. The notice contains appeal timing and instructions.
Contact Arkansas CAMA Technology firstThe Equalization Board page directs taxpayers to 501-623-2030 for assessment questions before scheduling a hearing.
Prepare market evidenceBring a fee appraisal, current comparable-sales data, photographs or other evidence tied to the prior-year valuation.
Income-producing property requires earlier dataThe county says income information intended for the hearing should reach Arkansas CAMA Technology at least 10 business days before the appointment.

County-to-state timeline: Garland Countyโ€™s delinquent-real-estate notice says the published parcels are held delinquent for a one-year period before certification to the State. The countyโ€™s Tax Statements page summarizes that real-estate taxes two years delinquent are subject to state certification and that property can later become subject to auction.
Published amount is not a payoff. Ask for the exact amount including tax, penalty, interest, advertising, costs and any improvement-district assessment. Do not send only the number printed in an old PDF.
Ownership warning: Paying taxes on a parcel you do not own does not transfer ownership. The Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands expressly warns users about this on state parcel pages.

Garland Countyโ€™s official PDF shows that total millage depends on the school district and whether the property is inside a listed city. Use the district on the tax statement; do not apply a countywide average.

Garland County Tax Collector FAQs

How do I pay Garland County Arkansas property taxes online?

Use the Garland County tax and trash inquiry site or the secure Arkansas.gov CountyPay service when it is available. Search by parcel number, taxpayer ID, name or address, confirm Garland County and the correct tax year, check for personal-property or solid-waste blocks, review the processing fee and save the confirmation.

How do I search Garland County property by name, address or parcel?

Use the tax inquiry site for balances, statements, receipts and payment status. Use the county-linked ACT DataScout real-property or personal-property search for assessed value, owner and parcel records. Use the Circuit Clerk record search for recorded deeds, mortgages and other filed real-property documents.

What is the difference between tax records, assessor records and deed records?

Tax records show bills, balances, receipts and payment status. Assessor records show valuation, ownership, parcel characteristics and personal-property assessment information. Circuit Clerk records show recorded documents such as deeds, mortgages and releases. One system does not replace the others.

Where is the Garland County Tax Collector office and what are its hours?

The official directory lists the Collector at 200 Woodbine, Room 108, Hot Springs National Park, AR 71901, phone 501-622-3710, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The payment page refers to suite 110 for in-person payment, so confirm the room when visiting.

When are Garland County property taxes due and what happens after the deadline?

Current personal and real-estate taxes are due March 1 and may be paid through October 15. If October 15 falls on a weekend, the county FAQ says the next business day applies. Late accounts may receive a 10% penalty, daily interest and advertising fees.

Can I make partial payments on Garland County property taxes?

Yes. Garland County says partial payments in any amount are allowed on current taxes before October 15. Partial payments are not accepted on delinquent taxes, and personal-property taxes must be paid before or at the same time as real-estate taxes.

Can a delinquent county trash bill block my property-tax payment?

Yes. Garland County says a delinquent solid-waste account can prevent acceptance of a property-tax payment, and an account with a Solid Waste block cannot be paid by credit card. Contact Environmental Services at 501-622-3658 and resolve the trash account before the deadline.

What should I do if I did not receive my tax statement?

Tax statements are mailed by July 1. Search the official tax site and contact the Collector if the statement does not arrive. Not receiving a statement does not excuse taxes or penalties. Address changes must be made with both the Collector and the Assessor.

How much is the Garland County homestead credit in 2026?

The current Amendment 79 FAQ says the principal-residence credit may be up to $600, while an older Tax Statements page still displays $350. Use the current 2026 application and confirm the amount and eligibility with the Assessor at 501-622-3730.

What happens when Garland County real-estate taxes become delinquent?

The county publishes delinquent real-estate lists and warns that listed amounts may omit interest, costs and special assessments. Property remains at the county for a delinquent period before certification to the Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands. State-certified parcels require an exact state payoff, and paying another ownerโ€™s delinquent taxes does not give ownership.
