Choose the Right Duval Tax Collector Branch Before You Pay, Book or Drive

Use this guide to find the Duval County Tax Collector website, phone number, property-tax search, appointment tools and Jacksonville-area branch offices.

Duval has active branches, renamed service areas and two important 2026 changes: Kernan closed in July, and Hogan service moved toward the new St. Johns Square office on Beach Boulevard.

2026 branch-change warning: old search results may still show Kernan or Hogan. The official Tax Collector site says Kernan closed July 24, 2026, and Hogan was scheduled to close September 2, 2026. For the Beach Boulevard / Atlantic Boulevard side of town, check the new St. Johns Square branch before driving.

⛔ Texas Attorney Fee Warning: After July 1, delinquent property taxes are referred to a collection attorney. An additional 15–20% attorney fee is added on top of your penalty and interest. On a $5,000 tax bill, this adds $750–$1,000 instantly. Pay before July 1 to avoid this.

What are you trying to do with the Duval County Tax Collector?

1
Pay or search property taxes

Start online. Use the Tax Collector portal for bills, balances, receipts, real estate taxes and tangible personal property taxes.

2
Find an office near you

Choose by branch status and service type, not only distance. Yates, Mandarin, North Main, Westside, Neptune Beach and St. Johns Square cover different sides of Jacksonville.

3
Fix value or exemption issue

Use the Duval County Property Appraiser for ownership, value, exemption, parcel and tangible-property record questions.

Do this first

Duval County branch status: Hogan, Kernan and St. Johns Square

Search results can lag behind real office changes. Before you drive to an old branch, compare your destination with the latest official branch list.

Kernan Branch

The official branch page labels Kernan as closed July 24, 2026. Do not use old Kernan directions unless the official site later reopens or changes the listing.

Hogan Branch

The official site listed Hogan as closing September 2, 2026. Because that date has passed, treat Hogan as unavailable unless the live branch page says otherwise.

St. Johns Square

The Beach Boulevard branch at 11160 Beach Blvd., Suite 121 is the new office intended to replace the Kernan/Hogan service area.

Local tip: Jacksonville users still search “Hogan Branch” and “Kernan Branch,” but the practical next step is to check St. Johns Square, Southside, Mandarin or another active branch by service.

Appointment and line help

How to book a Duval County Tax Collector appointment or join the line

Pick the service firstProperty tax, local business tax, driver license, title, registration, road test, HAZMAT, concealed weapon permit and building payment tasks do not all use the same branch.
Check branch statusDo not select Kernan from an old directory. For Hogan searches after September 2, check whether St. Johns Square is now the proper option.
Use the official appointment or virtual line toolOpen the official Tax Collector appointment page or branch page, then choose “Book an Appointment” or “Join the Line.”
Bring the document set for that serviceDriver license, title, tag, tax bill, business tax and concealed weapon tasks each require different proof.
Recheck before leavingHoliday closures, system outages and wait times can change the same day.
Appointment safety: do not buy appointments from a person or social-media post. Use only the official Tax Collector branch or appointment links.

  • 2nd installment: September 30, with 4.5% discount.
  • 3rd installment: December 31, with 3% discount.
  • 4th installment: March 31, no discount.
Partial payments

Florida law allows partial payments for current-year real estate and tangible personal property taxes from November 1 through March 31, but Duval adds important limits.

  • Not accepted for delinquent taxes.
  • A signed agreement/affidavit must be on file.
Do not mix plans: taxpayers on the quarterly installment plan are not eligible for the partial-payment route for that year. Mortgage escrow accounts are also excluded from partial payments.

Micro help

Common Duval County Tax Collector problems and fixes

“No bill found” in property search

Try account number, owner name and address separately. Remove punctuation and confirm the property is in Duval County, not nearby St. Johns, Clay or Nassau.

Payment already made by escrow

Check the live tax portal and mortgage escrow statement before paying again. Duplicate payments can take time to resolve.

Old Hogan or Kernan result appears

Open the official live branch list. For 2026, use St. Johns Square when the old East/Southside branch listing is no longer current.

Value looks wrong

Use the Property Appraiser. The Tax Collector collects the bill but does not set value, approve exemptions or build the tax roll.

Trying to mail a payment

Use Suite 130 for property tax and local business tax mail. Use Suite 212 only for the service types listed on the official contact page.

Tag renewal scam concern

The official site warns that non-government tag-renewal sites may look official and charge unnecessary fees. Start from taxcollector.jacksonville.gov.
