How to pay Pennsauken property taxes

Pennsauken provides online, in-person, mail and drop-box options for property-tax payments. Before paying, match the property information and balance to the correct account and confirm the amount due on the official Township system.

Start with the official Township tax page Use Pennsauken Township’s Tax Collector page rather than an advertisement or an unrelated tax-preparation website.
Confirm the property and balance Review the account information carefully before submitting a payment. For block-and-lot questions or ownership and assessment records, the Assessor’s Office is the appropriate department.
Choose a payment method Pay online when convenient, or use the Township’s available in-person, mail or drop-box route. Online processing fees are charged by the service provider rather than retained by the Township.
Keep proof of payment Save the online confirmation or other payment record. If mailing a payment and you want a receipt returned, the Township instructs taxpayers to include the tax bill and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
No tax bill in hand? Pennsauken explains that property owners remain responsible for taxes when due even if a bill was not received. A physical bill is not required to make a payment.

Billing calendar

Pennsauken property tax due dates

Pennsauken’s regular property-tax installments are due four times per year. The annual bill normally includes the final installments for the current year and preliminary installments for the following year.

Regular Pennsauken property tax installment dates
Installment Regular due date What to check
First quarter February 1 Current balance and any announced grace period
Second quarter May 1 Current balance and any announced grace period
Third quarter August 1 Final-bill amount and current Township notice
Fourth quarter November 1 Final-bill amount and any announced grace period
Grace period is not the due date. The statutory installment date and the last day of an authorized grace period are different. Pennsauken says the grace period is usually through the 10th of a tax-due month, but a specific Township notice can establish the operative date. For example, the Township announced August 11 as the end of the grace period for the 2026 third-quarter installment.

Added or omitted assessment bills are generally mailed separately in October, according to Pennsauken’s billing guidance.

Late payments

What happens if Pennsauken property taxes are late?

If payment is not received by the end of the applicable grace period, Pennsauken states that interest is charged back to the original installment due date rather than beginning after the grace period.

First $1,500 delinquent Pennsauken publishes an 8% interest rate for the first $1,500 of delinquency.
Amount above $1,500 The Township publishes an 18% rate on delinquency above $1,500 until the account becomes current.
Large year-end delinquency Pennsauken states that a delinquency over $10,000 on December 31 is subject to an additional 6% year-end penalty.
Do not estimate a payoff on an old balance. Interest can change with the payment date. Contact the Tax Collector or use the official account system to confirm the amount required to bring a delinquent account current.
Delinquent municipal charges

Pennsauken tax liens and annual tax sale

Pennsauken Township holds an annual tax sale for qualifying delinquent municipal charges from the prior calendar year. The Township identifies property taxes, property-maintenance fees, solid-waste charges and sewer charges among the types of delinquency that may be included.

A tax sale is materially different from an ordinary late installment. If an account has progressed to a lien or tax-sale stage, contact the Tax Collector for the current status and payoff information rather than relying on an older bill or an estimated interest calculation.

Troubleshooting

Common Pennsauken tax payment problems

I never received the tax bill You are still responsible for paying by the applicable deadline. Use the official account/payment resources or contact the Tax Collector to confirm the amount due.
My payment has not posted Check your confirmation and payment method first. If the account still shows an unexpected balance, contact the Tax Collector with the property information and payment details.
My mailing address is wrong Pennsauken’s current Tax Collector notice directs taxpayers needing a mailing-address update to contact the Township at tax@pennsauken.gov. Because ownership and assessment records can involve the Assessor, explain the type of correction you need.
I disagree with the assessed value Paying taxes and challenging an assessment are separate issues. Assessment questions and appeals belong with the Assessor and the applicable tax-appeal process, not the payment portal.
I need a receipt For a mailed payment, Pennsauken instructs taxpayers seeking a returned receipt to include the tax bill and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
I am close to a deadline Do not assume a postal postmark protects the payment date. Pennsauken’s 2026 third-quarter notice expressly states that postmark is not accepted.
