Mail a tax payment or use a participating bank safely
P.O. Box 952
Brownsville, TX 78522-0952
Make the check payable to Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector and include a statement copy or account number when possible.
- Write the account and tax year on the check.
- Identify the intended year when current and delinquent taxes both exist.
- Keep a check image and mailing evidence.
- Do not mail cash or card details.
- Request the current payoff before sending a delinquent amount.
Lone Star National Bank caution
The county page lists several Lone Star National Bank locations for current-year payment, but the same page still tells taxpayers to present a 2024 consolidated bill. Treat that wording as stale. Confirm the accepted tax year, participating location, payment method and posting process before relying on a bank branch.

How to use Cameron County Tax Office photos and reviews safely
The official Southmost Office photo shows the newer building at 3000 Southmost Boulevard. It is not the Brownsville main office at 835 East Levee. Harlingen and San Benito each also have both a branch and a motor-bank address, so match the sign and street before driving.
Third-party reviews can be anonymous, old, tied to a closed address or written by employees rather than customers. Use reviews only for general visit expectations; use the county page for hours, phone numbers, locations and available services.
