A July 2026 Township notice also announced Saturday hours for the third-quarter collection period.

Quarterly schedule

Old Bridge property-tax due dates and grace period

Old Bridge Township mails one annual property-tax bill, generally in July. The bill includes payment stubs for August and November of the current year and February and May of the following year.

Regular Old Bridge Township property-tax installments
Installment Regular due date Grace-period point What to verify
First quarter February 1 Township provides a 10-day grace period by resolution Exact final no-interest date for that quarter
Second quarter May 1 Township provides a 10-day grace period by resolution Township announcement if the calendar affects the final date
Third quarter August 1 Township provides a 10-day grace period by resolution Any estimated-bill or revised-billing announcement
Fourth quarter November 1 Township provides a 10-day grace period by resolution Current collection-period notice
Grace period is not a different statutory due date. The installment remains due on the quarterly due date. The Township’s grace period determines how long a payment may be received without the stated delinquency interest being charged. Check the exact announced deadline for the quarter you are paying.
Bill calculation

How the Old Bridge property-tax bill is structured

The Middlesex County Board of Taxation strikes the tax rate after certified budgets are filed by the Township, local school district, fire districts and County. Old Bridge then collects the resulting property-tax installments.

First half of the year

The Township explains that first-half billing is based on 50% of the prior year’s total property tax.

Second half of the year

After the current tax rate is established, it is applied to the assessed value. The first-half billing is then subtracted to determine the remaining second-half amount.

Registered OB Online users can see a detailed breakdown of their property-tax information and review current-year and prior-year account details.
Account verification

Check an Old Bridge tax balance or payment record

OB Online can be used to review account information, including payment activity. The Township says its online data is refreshed at approximately 3 a.m. from the prior business day’s close.

Confirm whether a tax payment has posted.
Review current property-tax details.
Check payments made through the online system.
Review recorded property details associated with the account.
Recent payment not visible? A payment made today may not appear immediately because the online information is updated from the prior business day. Keep the confirmation and recheck after the next update before assuming the payment failed.
Late balances

What happens when Old Bridge property taxes are late?

The Township states that delinquent installments are subject to interest after the applicable grace period. Its Tax Collection page lists 8% interest on the first $1,500 of delinquency and 18% on the portion above $1,500.

1
8% tier

The first $1,500 of the delinquent balance is subject to the Township’s stated 8% interest rate.

2
18% tier

The amount of delinquency above $1,500 is subject to the Township’s stated 18% rate.

3
Large delinquency

The Township also states that a delinquency exceeding $10,000 is subject to a 6% penalty.

Old Bridge also states that taxes delinquent for one year or more are included annually in a tax sale under New Jersey law. Tax liens may later be assigned for in-rem foreclosure proceedings.

Do not estimate a payoff amount yourself. If the account is delinquent, in tax sale or associated with a lien, contact Tax Collection for the current amount and acceptable payment procedure before sending funds.
Right office

Tax Collector vs. Tax Assessor in Old Bridge

The Tax Collection office deals with billing, receiving property-tax payments and delinquent tax accounts. Questions about an assessment or the assessed property record belong with the Tax Assessor rather than the collector.

Call Tax Collection when: You need a balance, payment status, bill information, delinquency information or help with the tax-payment account.
Call the Tax Assessor when: Your question concerns the assessment itself, assessed property information or an assessment-related issue.
Old Bridge Township lists the Tax Assessor separately at 732-721-5600 ext. 2799.
