Bradenton, Florida · Appointment, branch and property-tax guide

Choose the Right Manatee Tax Collector Branch Before You Book

Bradenton has a full Driver License Branch, a West Manatee Branch and an East Manatee Branch. They share the same general phone line and weekday hours, but they do not handle every driver-license transaction at every location.

Use this guide to select the correct office, schedule the required appointment, search property taxes by owner and contact the Property Appraiser when your question is about value, ownership, exemptions or maps.

Appointment rule: Regular in-person services at Manatee County Tax Collector branches require an appointment and are limited to Manatee County residents and businesses. Private license plate agencies have different walk-in rules and may charge additional agency fees.

⛔ Texas Attorney Fee Warning: After July 1, delinquent property taxes are referred to a collection attorney. An additional 15–20% attorney fee is added on top of your penalty and interest. On a $5,000 tax bill, this adds $750–$1,000 instantly. Pay before July 1 to avoid this.

Confirm Manatee County eligibilityThe office limits appointments to Manatee County residents and businesses. Bring residency or business proof when the transaction requires it.

Avoid duplicate bookingsThe office warns that scheduling multiple appointments can cause all appointments to be cancelled without notice.
Complete the online DL/ID applicationDriver-license and ID customers must submit the official online application before the appointment. Do not print it; staff access the electronic submission.
Save the mobile number and confirmationThe mobile number used during booking is needed to view, cancel or reschedule the appointment.
No phone or email booking: The office says appointments may only be scheduled online. Customers needing scheduling assistance may visit the Driver License Branch lobby for help booking a future appointment.

Current tax status

Discount periods, 2026 installment status and delinquent taxes

Annual payment pattern

Opening discount periodAnnual bills normally begin collection in November. The exact opening date and 4% discount deadline can shift with the tax-roll schedule.
December — 3% periodUse the amount and deadline shown for the current bill cycle.
January — 2% periodConfirm whether a mortgage or closing agent is already processing payment.
February — 1% periodFinal standard discount period.
March 31 — pay before delinquencyIn-person payment must be received by 5:00 p.m.; online payment by 11:59 p.m.; eligible mail must be properly postmarked.
April 1 — delinquentCurrent-year taxes become delinquent and begin accumulating statutory interest, advertising and collection costs.
August 2026 status: Unpaid 2025 Manatee County property taxes are delinquent, and the May 28, 2026 tax-certificate sale date has passed. Search the live account for the current redemption amount; do not use the original November bill total.
Tax certificate does not immediately transfer ownership: It creates a first lien. If taxes remain unpaid, the certificate holder may become eligible to apply for a tax deed after two years from delinquency. Payoff includes delinquent taxes, interest, penalties and advertising costs.

2026 installment-plan status

If you already enrolled
  • First installment: June 30 for 6% discount or July 31 without discount.
  • Second installment: September 30, 4.5% discount.
  • Third installment: December 31, 3% discount.
  • Fourth installment: March 31, 2027, no discount.
If you did not enroll

The April 30, 2026 application deadline and the first-installment deadlines have passed. Do not submit a late installment application unless the official system specifically permits it; prepare for the annual bill cycle instead.

Phone limitation: For accuracy, the office says it does not quote property-tax payoffs or confirm payment status by telephone. Use the official parcel account for live status and call only for procedural help.
Tax assessor search intent

Manatee County Property Appraiser vs Tax Collector

Florida calls the valuation office the Property Appraiser. It is separate from the Tax Collector and has a different office, search system and responsibilities.

Property search options

Search by owner last name and first name, address number and street name, or parcel ID. The appraiser states that search data is updated nightly.

New-buyer tax shock: Existing exemptions, caps and discounts may be removed after a sale and assessed value may return toward market value. A new owner must apply for qualifying exemptions by the applicable deadline rather than relying on the prior owner’s tax amount.
Troubleshooting

Common Manatee Tax Collector problems and the next action

No appointment datesProcess online when eligible, check another appropriate branch or return later. Do not create duplicate appointments.
Family has several DL transactionsBook a separate appointment for each person; one family appointment does not cover everyone.
Booked West for a written examCancel or reschedule for the Driver License Branch at 904 301 Blvd W.
Non-US citizen booked East or WestUse the Driver License Branch and bring original, current legal-presence documents.
Property search shows the prior ownerSearch by property ID/address and verify current ownership with the Property Appraiser.
Mortgage company says it paidCheck the live account before making a duplicate payment and ask the lender for its transaction reference.
Closing agent says taxes were handledReview the closing statement; prorations between buyer and seller do not necessarily mean the Tax Collector already received payment.
Payment does not showKeep the confirmation, check number, amount, date and property ID. Verify online before submitting another payment.
Need a current delinquent payoffUse the live tax account; delinquent postmarks do not control the payment month and the amount changes with time.
Value or exemption is wrongContact the Property Appraiser; the Tax Collector cannot change the tax roll.
Useful call script“I am a Manatee County resident and need help with [service]. I selected [West / East / Driver License], my appointment or property ID is [number], and I need to confirm [branch eligibility / documents / payment status procedure] before traveling.”
