Pay, Check or Fix a Vineland Property Tax Bill
Use this guide to find the correct City of Vineland tax account, compare payment methods and fees, check office hours, trace a missing payment, review tax records, or decide whether your question belongs to the Tax Collector or Tax Assessor.
Start with the explanation below, then use the City’s WIPP portal or official department page only when you are ready to take the live action.
Current 2026–2027 billing alert: The City says it is still waiting for the State to certify the tax rate. Bills will be mailed later than usual, and the grace period will be extended. Do not assume a normal August grace-period cutoff; use the extended dates printed in the notice enclosed with your bill or call the Tax Office.

Tax Lien Warning
⛔ Texas Attorney Fee Warning: After July 1, delinquent property taxes are referred to a collection attorney. An additional 15–20% attorney fee is added on top of your penalty and interest. On a $5,000 tax bill, this adds $750–$1,000 instantly. Pay before July 1 to avoid this.

How to search and pay a City of Vineland tax bill online
Open the Vineland WIPP portal
Use the WIPP link provided by the City of Vineland. Do not use a utility-payment page, an ad or a generic third-party tax-payment page.
Choose the correct account type
Use Tax Account Information for regular land/property taxes. Use PILOT Information only when the property is actually billed under a PILOT arrangement.
Match the property before paying
Check the owner, property address, block and lot or account information, tax year, quarter and amount due.
Check the current 2026–2027 notice
Because the City says bills are delayed and the grace period will be extended, use the date shown in your current bill enclosure rather than assuming the normal August cutoff.
Choose e-check or card
The current City page lists $1.95 per e-check transaction and 2.95% for credit/debit cards.
Save proof immediately
Keep the WIPP confirmation, bank/card record, property details and quarter until the account clearly shows the payment.
Bank bill-pay is different from WIPP. If you use your bank’s personal online bill-payment service, the City says to allow 14 days for the payment to reach the Tax Office. Near a grace-period deadline, that route can be risky.

Useful call script
“I’m calling about the property at [address], block/lot [if known]. I need to confirm [the current balance / extended 2026 grace date / whether a payment posted / a lien payoff]. I have the payment date and confirmation/check number.”
Vineland property tax due dates, grace period and no-postmark rule
February 1
Normal first-quarter due date.
May 1
Normal second-quarter due date.
August 1
Normal third-quarter due date, but the current 2026–2027 bill cycle has a City-announced extended grace period because bills are being mailed late.
November 1
Normal fourth-quarter due date.
Do not assume “10 days after August 1” for the current delayed bill. The City says the 2026–2027 bill enclosure will provide the extended grace-period dates after the State certifies the rate.
No postmark protection: New Jersey does not allow the Vineland Tax Collector to acknowledge a postmark. A mailed payment must be received and processed within the applicable deadline/grace period.
If the final grace day falls when City Hall is closed: the City says payment will be processed the following business day without interest.

Deadline-safe use
Payments placed in a drop box after 8:00 a.m. are processed the next business day. On the final grace day, bring the payment into the Tax Office if next-day processing would make it late.
Cash rounding notice: Because pennies are becoming unavailable, the cashiering office says cash-change situations are rounded up to the nearest $0.05, with the small difference credited forward to the next amount due.
Free checking-account option
Vineland auto debit: setup deadline, confirmation and NSF rule
Complete the preauthorized payment form
Return the form with a voided check to the Tax Collector by mail or in person.
Submit at least 15 days before the quarter
If the due date is less than 15 days away, pay that quarter separately; auto debit begins with the next scheduled quarter.
Wait for written confirmation
The City says it will confirm which quarter the authorization takes effect.
Call if confirmation does not arrive within 15 days
Do not assume the form was received or activated.
Expect a reminder about one week before debit
Make sure sufficient funds are available.
Insufficient funds trigger a $20 NSF fee
The City says it will not make a second attempt and will request certified funds.
City of Vineland Tax Assessor: value, mailing address, exemptions and deeds
The Tax Assessor establishes the assessed value of real property. The Assessor also handles deed transfers, owner mailing-address changes, farmland assessment and tax-exempt applications.
The City says income-qualified homeowners age 65+ or disabled may receive a $250 property deduction if they qualify.
$250 veteran deduction
Qualified veterans and widows of veterans may receive a $250 deduction.
Disabled veteran exemption
Qualified permanently disabled veterans may be entitled to a full property-tax exemption.
Residential improvement abatement: The Assessor says qualifying improvements such as additions, decks, sheds or extra bathrooms can receive an abatement on added value up to $15,000 for five years if the application is timely. The City also lists a five-year PILOT program for qualifying new commercial or industrial construction.
Wrong-address fix: Do not write a new address on the tax bill and assume it updates City records. The Tax Collector specifically directs mailing-address changes to the Tax Assessor’s official form.
Check whether the Assessor has the correct mailing address.
If a lender escrows taxes, confirm the lender received the bill.
Remember: not receiving the bill does not remove the payment obligation.
Payment not showing
Confirm the bank or card transaction.
If you paid by check, see whether it cleared.
If it cleared, obtain front-and-back images from your bank.
Call with property information, amount, date and check/confirmation number.
Do not pay a second time until the first payment is traced.
Why front and back of the check matter: The City says those images can help determine where a cashed payment was applied if the tax account still appears unpaid.
Closing and escrow help
New owner, mortgage escrow and duplicate-bill problems
You recently bought the property
The City says tax bills should be given to new owners at sale. Search WIPP after closing rather than waiting for the next paper bill.
Your mortgage company escrows taxes
If the lender does not receive the municipal bill, the City says it remains your responsibility to make sure it gets a copy.
You changed your mailing address
Submit the official address-change form to the Tax Assessor; do not edit the tax bill itself.
You need another paper bill
The City currently lists a $5 fee for duplicate bill requests.

What the taxpayer should do
First $1,500 of delinquency
8% annual interest
Request the current payoff instead of calculating from an old bill.
Delinquency over $1,500
18% annual interest on the amount over $1,500
Confirm the exact balance through Tax Office/WIPP.
Large year-end balance
6% penalty if balance outstanding Dec. 31 exceeds $10,000
Resolve the account before year-end if possible and verify payoff.
Interest cannot simply be waived. The City says once a payment becomes delinquent, interest must be charged and no one has authority to waive it.
Tax sale and redemption
Vineland tax liens, bankruptcy accounts and redemption rules
Municipal and third-party tax liens and properties in bankruptcy cannot be paid through the normal online portal. The City directs those accounts to the Tax Office with certified funds.
Request a redemption figure before visiting
Do not rely on an old notice; all outstanding municipal charges may need to be brought current.
Use the required payment form
The Tax FAQ lists cash, cashier’s check or money order for lien redemption.
Bring proof of legal interest
The City says the person redeeming must be the owner of record or have legal interest in the property and may be asked to prove it.
Understand what happens after payment
The Collector notifies the lien holder, receives the endorsed certificate back and sends the cancelled certificate to the redeeming party, who is responsible for having the lien removed at the county office.
Foreclosure timing matters: The City FAQ says an outside bidder may begin foreclosure if a sold lien remains unredeemed for two years; a municipal strike-off can lead to In Rem foreclosure six months after the sale. Get legal advice for property-specific consequences.
2026 Vineland tax appeal deadlines: Collector does not lower assessed value
Regular assessment appeal
The City lists April 1 of the current year. For 2026, that deadline has passed.
Added or omitted assessment appeal
The City lists December 1 of the current year. As of August 13, 2026, this date is still ahead.
Cumberland County route: The City directs taxpayers to the County Tax Administrator at 856-453-7425 or Cumberland County Board of Taxation, 2745 S. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360, for appeal forms and guidance.
Keep paying while an assessment issue is being resolved. An appeal concerns assessed value; it does not automatically cancel quarterly tax-payment deadlines.
