Local Business Tax Receipts are required for many businesses operating in Brevard County. A receipt does not automatically confirm zoning, building occupancy, life-safety approval or state licensing.

  • Renewals begin July 1.
  • Receipts expire September 30.
  • October 1 is the delinquency date.
  • Questions: 321-264-6969 or 321-633-2199.
Tangible Personal Property Tax

Tangible tax can apply to business equipment, fixtures, furniture, leased equipment and certain rental-property furnishings.

  • Late filing penalties are 5% per month or portion of a month.
  • No filed return can trigger a 25% penalty and estimated assessment.
  • Assessment corrections go through the Property Appraiser.
