Pay Duval County Property Tax or Find the Right Jacksonville Office

The Duval County Tax Collector handles property-tax billing and payments for Jacksonville and Duval County. Use this page to reach the official payment service, confirm current office locations, understand annual tax deadlines, or determine when the separate Property Appraiser is the office you actually need.

As of October 2026, the Tax Collector lists eight regular branches accepting property-tax payments. Kernan and Hogan are closed, and the replacement St. Johns Square branch is open at 11160 Beach Boulevard, Suite 121.

2026 branch change: Do not travel to the former Kernan or Hogan offices. The Tax Collector says both are permanently closed. St. Johns Square at 11160 Beach Blvd., Suite 121 is now an active full-service branch.

How to pay Duval County property taxes online

Start from the official Duval County Tax Collector property-tax page rather than from an advertisement or an unofficial payment website. The Tax Collector collects the bill, while the Property Appraiser handles value, ownership and exemptions.

Open the official property-tax page Use the Tax Collector’s property-tax section and follow its current “find and pay” route.
Locate the correct tax account Match the property address, owner, account or parcel information and tax year before submitting money.
Check whether a mortgage company already pays the bill If taxes are escrowed with a mortgage, confirm whether the lender has already paid or is scheduled to pay before making a second payment.
Review the amount and payment method Read the processor screen carefully for any electronic-payment fee before authorizing the transaction.
Save the confirmation Keep the tax year, account number, amount, transaction confirmation and bank or card record until the official account reflects the payment.
Missing bill? The Tax Collector states that an owner is still responsible for the tax even if the November bill was not received. Search the account or contact the Tax Department instead of waiting for another notice.

Jacksonville property-tax dates and early-payment discounts

Duval County property-tax bills are mailed in November. For the standard annual payment cycle, paying earlier can reduce the amount due, while unpaid taxes become delinquent after the March payment period.

November

Annual collection begins. Standard early-payment discount: 4%.

December

Standard early-payment discount: 3%.

January

Standard early-payment discount: 2%.

February

Standard early-payment discount: 1%.

March 31

Annual taxes are due without an early-payment discount.

April 1

Unpaid annual property taxes become delinquent.

Current 2026 timing: The official Tax Collector site lists November 1, 2026 as the start of property-tax collection for the 2026 roll.

Installment plan and partial-payment options

Quarterly installment method

If estimated property taxes are more than $100, Duval taxpayers may apply for the statutory installment method on or before April 30 of the year in which they want to begin the plan.

Duval property-tax installment schedule
Installment Due date Published discount
First June 30 6%
Second September 30 4.5%
Third December 31 3%
Fourth March 31 0%

The first installment must be paid to participate. If it is not paid by July 31, the official guidance says the account is removed from the installment method for that year and returns to annual billing.

Partial payments

Partial payments are a different option. Duval accepts them for eligible current-year real estate and tangible personal property taxes from November 1 through March 31 after a signed partial-payment agreement is placed on file.

  • Early-payment discounts are forfeited.
  • Partial payments are not available for delinquent taxes.
  • The option is not available online or by phone.
  • It is not available for an account already on the quarterly installment plan.
  • It is not available when taxes are paid through a mortgage escrow account.

What to do if Duval County property taxes are already late

Do not rely on the amount printed on an old bill after the account becomes delinquent. Interest, fees or other collection costs can change the amount required to clear the account.

Search the live tax account again Confirm the current delinquent balance and the tax year involved.
Check the accepted payment method Delinquent accounts may have different electronic-payment rules from current taxes.
Call the Tax Department when the balance is unclear Use 904-255-5700, option 4, especially when a payment, bankruptcy, certificate or prior-year balance affects the account.
Keep proof of every payment Save receipts and confirmation numbers until the delinquent account shows the correct status.
Tax certificates matter: delinquent real-estate taxes can enter Florida’s tax-certificate process. If a property has an older unpaid balance, use the official Tax Collector account and current instructions rather than assuming the normal annual payment rules still apply.
